“The bait-ball of sardines was attacked and consumed down to the last one by the frigate birds from above and from underwater by hundreds of yellow fin tuna, tens of silky sharks and dolphins. ”
Our exclusive two-week dive and photography expedition is the only one of its kind in the Galapagos Islands. There is a regulation in place allowing only one week cruises in the Galapagos however, based on Amos’ credentials, we have been given permission to stay at sea for a full two weeks. This enables us to invest the core of our expedition time at the best Galapagos dive sites – which are undoubtedly Darwin and Wolf - without losing any time for dive activities. Our chances to see the illusive whale shark are also increased as well as opportunities to see the mesmerizing site of schooling hammerhead sharks and much, much more.
On previous voyages we have had sightings of about 11 whale sharks, a pod of at least 300 bottlenose dolphins, parade after parade of hammerhead sharks and for the finale we had a 55-minute encounter with a bait-ball. The bait-ball of sardines was attacked and consumed to the last one by the frigate birds from above and from under the water by hundreds of yellow fin tuna, tens of silky sharks and dolphins.
