“EXPECT THE UNEXPTECTED AND BE THRILLED"
This expedition is perfect for underwater photographers and for those thrill seekers who want to get close to the apex predator in its natural environment. It is also an expedition that will suit both divers and non-divers. A maximum of ten guests will sail onboard the spacious 18-passenger MV Sea Escape, spending a full five-days on the boat. We will carry three large cages including one designed to lower to 18-metres or deeper for a thrilling view from below. Chum and bait will keep the shark close to our vessel and with only ten guests everyone can be in a cage at the same time. You need to be in the water to fully appreciate these rare, impressive animals and you are likely to witness sharks from the young ones at 3 metres long to the more mature at over 5 metres.

There are only three places in the world where you can see great white sharks - Africa, Australia and Mexico. This unique photography experience takes place on Isla Guadalupe a volcanic island located 241 kilometres off the west coast of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula and some 400 kilometres southwest of the city of Ensenada. At least 102 great whites visit a particular bay on this island during the shark season (August – November) and we offer virtually unlimited diving with them. The sea conditions are generally calm with 25 to 40-metre visibility in deep blue water and a water temperature of 21-22 degrees C.
White Shark Research
The Centro Interdisciplinario de Ciencias Marinas (CICIMAR) has initiated a research program on white sharks. CICIMAR is focusing on the behaviour, ecology and genetics of white sharks at Guadalupe Island. So far, they have collected tissue samples from white sharks for both genetic and stable isotope analyses. Leading the research during our expedition will be Dr. Alex Antoniou who has been studying sharks for over 12 years.
Out of the cage experience
For an additional cost five people will be able to join a once-in-a-lifetime experience of being out in the blue with these incredible animals. Under the right conditions and with safety divers watching your back, you will be able to experience getting closer to a great white shark than anyone could ever dream of. Your guide, Amos Nachoum, has 28 years experience diving with great white sharks off Australia, South Africa and the Farallon Islands, San Francisco.
